The Experience
You arrive up the winding road from Lorient, past the flame trees and gated gardens that make Pointe Milou feel like a hillside village of villas rather than a resort. Tiwa opens onto a covered terrace, an outdoor dining table, and a pool that seems to spill toward the horizon. Inside, it's compact but generous: two proper bedrooms (one with a full sea view), two bathrooms, a full kitchen, and enough living space to actually cook, lounge, and host without tripping over each other. Mornings are for coffee on the terrace watching the light change over the Atlantic; afternoons are a ten-minute drive down to St Jean or Lorient beach; evenings tend to end with the BBQ fired up and the pool lights on. Because Pointe Milou has almost no shops or restaurants of its own, you get real quiet — the trade-off being that a rental car is essential.
What to Try
Ask about the sea-view bedroom when you book — it's the one guests fight over. Use the outdoor BBQ and the full kitchen for at least a couple of dinners: provisioning at the Marché U in Saint-Jean or the smaller Lorient market and eating home is a genuine St Barth luxury. And plan one big night down the hill at Le Ti St Barth, the island's legendary cabaret-dinner club that's practically a Pointe Milou institution.

Villa Tiwa is quietly pet-friendly — dogs of any size are welcome at no extra charge, which is almost unheard of at this level in St Barth. If you're traveling with a small dog, mention it up front and you'll get a much warmer setup than you would at the bigger estates.
