Villa Pointe Milou

A modern four-bedroom perch above the Caribbean on St Barth's most storied peninsula

Why Go

Pointe Milou is the rocky headland where St Barth's night owls come to watch the sun drop into the sea and then keep the party going until sunrise. Villa Pointe Milou plants you right in the middle of it, with a heated pool, a private gym, and one of those sweeping panoramas that stretches from Lorient's surf break to the twinkling lights of St Jean Bay. Built in 2018 and quietly refined rather than flashy, it is the kind of house that spoils a family or a group of four couples into never wanting to check into a hotel again.

The Experience

You arrive to four ensuite bedrooms arranged for privacy, an open kitchen that flows straight onto the terrace, and a living room framed entirely by that Caribbean horizon. Mornings are for espresso by the pool while the trade winds do their work; afternoons drift between the gym, a swim, and the shaded loungers. The villa's position on Grand Carenage means Hotel Christopher (and its Taïno restaurant and spa) is a short walk away, so you can outsource a dinner or a massage without ever getting in the car. When you do drive, St Jean's beach and boutiques are five minutes down the hill and Gustavia is eight.

What to Try

Book a private chef for at least one dinner on the terrace — the open kitchen was built for it, and the sunset from the pool deck is the reason people fly to Pointe Milou in the first place. Use the gym before the beach, not after. And stock the fridge from the Marché U in St Jean on arrival day; deliveries to the villa are simple to arrange.

Insider Tip

Thursday night at Le Ti St Barth, the legendary cabaret restaurant a few curves up the same road, is Pointe Milou's not-so-secret ritual — walk or grab a five-minute taxi so no one in the group has to drive back down the hill. Ask the villa manager to reserve a table on the dance-floor side, not the terrace, if you actually want to see the show.

The Practical Stuff

Four bedrooms, four ensuite baths, sleeps eight. Heated pool, gym, open-plan kitchen and living room, full A/C, staff on call. Standard minimum stay is seven nights (five may be considered off-season). Address: 16 Grand Carenage, Pointe Milou, 97133 St Barthélemy. Roughly 10 minutes from St Barth (SBH) airport; a rental car or pre-booked transfer is essential — Sea Zone St Barth handles both. Bookings and questions go through the villa directly (WhatsApp +1 914 409-6570).

Pair It With

  • Le Ti St Barth — The Pointe Milou institution for a proper St Barth night out — dinner, cabaret, and dancing, all a few minutes from the villa's front door.
  • Hotel Christopher — Walkable neighbour with a Sisley spa and the Taïno restaurant, perfect for an easy off-property lunch or couples' treatment.
  • Lorient Beach — The closest swimmable beach, mellow in the morning and a favourite of local surfers when the swell picks up.
  • Absolute Hot Yoga (Gustavia) — A short drive down for a morning class before spending the rest of the day horizontal by the pool.
  • A fleur de peau (Saint-Jean) — Boutique stop on the way back from St Jean beach for the kind of resort wear that suits sunset drinks at the villa.
