Villa Les Palmes: A Private Colombier Hideaway With Flamands Bay Views

Five-bedroom hillside villa where the infinity pool spills toward the Caribbean and the whole island feels a world away

Why Go

Tucked into a private domain in Colombier, this newly-built 5-bedroom villa sleeps ten and gives you the two things every St Barth trip actually needs: proper privacy and an unobstructed view of Flamands Bay from almost every couch.

The Experience

You arrive up a quiet Colombier lane and the villa unfolds in layers rather than announcing itself all at once. The main pavilion opens straight onto a deck built around a heated infinity pool that hangs over the hillside, so from the moment you drop your bags the horizon does most of the talking. Mornings tend to start slowly on the shaded outdoor lounge with the kitchen island in reach for coffee and fruit, then splinter as some guests wander down to the gym or the on-site massage room and others take the five-minute drive down to Flamands beach. The bedroom layout is unusually generous for a St Barth villa: one king suite in the main house, two in freestanding bungalows tucked into the tropical garden, and two more on a lower level reached by an exterior staircase, which means couples and families can genuinely spread out without ever crossing paths at 7 a.m. By late afternoon the light softens across the bay, someone lights the BBQ, and the villa quietly turns into the best restaurant on the island for the night. It is the kind of place where a week disappears and a car rental gets used maybe twice.

What to Try

Book a private chef for at least two dinners on the pool deck; the kitchen was designed for it and the sunset over Flamands is the entire point. Use the on-site massage room instead of driving into town for spa appointments. And plan one lazy morning where nobody leaves the property before lunch, just so the villa actually gets used the way it was built to be used.

Insider Tip

Colombier is deliberately far from the Gustavia and Saint-Jean action, which is a feature, not a bug, but it means grocery runs matter. Do a proper provisioning order with Maya's To Go or Kikeloco before arrival so the first 48 hours run on villa time rather than supermarket time. Ask the villa manager to pre-book a Sea Zone transfer for airport day; the Rémy de Haenen runway is famously short and having a driver waiting removes the only stressful hour of the trip.

The Practical Stuff

Five air-conditioned king bedrooms, each with an ensuite bath, sleeping up to 10 guests. Heated infinity pool, gym, dedicated massage room, gourmet kitchen, outdoor dining and BBQ. Minimum stay is typically 7 nights; shorter stays only on request. Rates do not include the 5% tourism tax or the 10% service fee. A rental car is essentially required — Colombier is a hillside neighborhood with no walkable services, roughly 10 minutes from Gustavia and 5 minutes down to Flamands beach.

Pair It With

  • Flamands Beach — The long, wide crescent you see from the pool deck — five minutes down the hill and the closest swim from the villa.
  • 6e SENS Massage Wellness Beauty Saint Barth Guide — For treatments the on-site massage room can't cover; they'll also come to the villa if you'd rather stay put.
  • Absolute Hot Yoga Gustavia — An easy morning ritual on the drive into town — pairs well with a coffee and pastry stop after class.
  • Abyss Restaurant Guide — A relaxed dinner out when you finally want to leave the villa, without the reservation gymnastics of Nikki Beach or Bonito.
  • A fleur de peau (Saint-Jean) — Worth a browse for resortwear and gifts on the way back from the airport-side beaches.
  • Sea Zone St Barth — Book them for a private boat day to Colombier beach or Colombo — the coastline right below the villa is best seen from the water.
