The Experience
Owners Christine and Jean-Christophe are lifelong surfers, and the five cottages here are their love letter to the planet's great breaks: Waikiki, Cap Ferret, Essaouira, Pavones, and Padang Padang. Each has its own private terrace, hammock corner, and personality — think louvered shutters, bleached wood, framed surf photography, and outdoor showers hidden behind flowering hibiscus. The whole place is built around a small plunge pool ringed with palms and traveler's trees, and there's no reception drama, no dress code, and blissfully no scene. Breakfast (fresh baguette, jams, fruit, strong coffee) arrives in a basket at your door, and the loudest sound most days is a rooster or the wind in the sea-grape leaves.
What to Try
Book the Padang Padang or Cap Ferret cottage if you want a kitchenette (useful for a longer stay or a beach-picnic lifestyle) and the tinier Waikiki if you're traveling light and want the best value. Ask for a scooter recommendation on arrival — the owners point guests to a rental spot in Saint-Jean that skips the airport markup — and use it to string together the southern beaches: Saline in the morning, Gouverneur for the walk down, and sunset drinks back in Gustavia.

The 'walk to Saline' everyone talks about is real, but do it right: leave the cottage before 9 a.m. with water and reef shoes, take the sandy path (not the paved road) that starts opposite the property, and post up on the far-left end of the beach — the crowd from the parking lot never makes it that far. Come back to the garden for a rinse and a nap before the afternoon heat, then head out again around 4 p.m. when the light turns gold and the day-trippers have gone.

Roughly 5 minutes by car to Saint-Jean, 10–15 minutes to Gustavia, and about 10 minutes from Gustaf III Airport. A rental car or scooter is essentially required — there is no public transit and taxis are pricey.
