The Experience
The peninsula juts north-east from the airport road, so as you climb the hill the noise falls away and the ocean opens up on three sides. Villas dominate — think whitewashed, wood-shuttered houses with infinity pools spilling toward the horizon, most sleeping four to ten guests with daily housekeeping, concierge, and private chefs on call. Anchoring the area are Hotel Christopher (with its Sisley spa and one of the largest pools on the island) and the eternal Le Ti St Barth, whose costumed dinner-shows are a rite of passage. Days here run slow: morning coffee on the terrace watching squalls track across the Atlantic, a quick drive down to Lorient or Saint-Jean beach, back up for a pool afternoon before drinks start somewhere on the ridge.

Book a villa with a west-facing pool deck — Pointe Milou's calling card is the sunset, and the best properties (Villa Pointe Milou, Pastel, Upside, Kap, Miranda) are engineered around it. Save one night for the full Le Ti St Barth experience: cabaret dinner that slides into a nightclub around midnight. For a quieter evening, the terrace bar at Hotel Christopher's Mango restaurant delivers the same horizon with none of the sequins. Sisley Spa at Christopher takes non-guests if you book ahead.
Insider Tip
You will need a rental car — there are no beaches within walking distance and taxis on St Barth are scarce and expensive after dark. Reserve a small 4x4 (Suzuki Jimny or similar) before you fly in; the villa driveways here are steep and the island's cross-hill roads are narrow. Also: the Atlantic side gets breezy, which is glorious for sleeping but means pool days are calmer than beach days at nearby Lorient.
