Why Go
Right in the middle of Baie de St Jean, on the sand once occupied by Tom Beach and La Plage, Pearl Beach has reopened as a single, more polished all-day beach club. Loungers face the turquoise bay, swings hang from the beach bar, and every few minutes a Twin Otter clips the ridge overhead on its way into the airport — the loudest, most photographed lunch soundtrack on the island.
The Experience
The vibe glides from bare-feet breakfast on the deck to a long, wine-fuelled lunch and, on weekends, dinner under the stars. Service leans French-Caribbean-relaxed: crisp linen and rosé buckets, but nobody blinks if you show up straight from a lounger in a wet swimsuit and a linen shirt. Midday is peak scene — expect a well-dressed St Jean crowd, DJs easing in, and prosecco and rum punch flowing steadily. Come sunset on Friday–Sunday, the sand tables get candles and the mood tips from beach club to date-night.
What to Try
The signature lobster menu is the obvious move — grilled with garlic butter or in the more inventive island preparations, sourced fresh and priced accordingly. Beyond the crustacean, lean into raw-bar plates, ceviche, and the whole grilled catch of the day. Breakfast is a quieter secret: it's one of the very few beachfront kitchens in St Barth serving eggs, pastries and fresh juices from 7:30, and taking a table right on the sand before the crowds arrive is one of the island's best cheap thrills. Cocktail-wise, ask for a proper Ti' Punch or the house rum punch; the rosé list is unsurprisingly deep.
Insider Tip
Skip the front-row loungers if you actually want to eat in peace — the tables closest to the runway end of the beach get the full plane-spotting show, which is fun for one landing and exhausting for ten. For lunch, book a deck table on the Nikki Beach side instead: same view of the bay, half the jet-wash. In high season (Christmas/NYE, February, Easter) reservations are essential days ahead, and the dinner service only runs Friday through Sunday, so plan weekend nights accordingly.
