Shop Saint-Jean in the late morning, roughly 10:30–12:00, before the lunch-and-beach crowd clogs the parking around the airport roundabout. Many boutiques on the island still observe a proper midday break (closed roughly 12:30–3:00), so a mid-morning loop lets you actually browse, then reward yourself with a rosé lunch at one of the beach clubs a two-minute walk away. Bring a card — most shops prefer it — and remember that as a duty-free port, St Barth pricing on European labels is often gentler than on the mainland.
