The Experience
Opened in November 2021 as the Caribbean cousin of D&G's iconic Milan Martini Bar, this is less a nightlife stop and more a full-day mood. Architect Steven Harris channelled the pattern language of Italian courtyards — indoor and outdoor spaces bleed into one another under towering palms, with banquettes, marble accents, and the signature D&G maiolica motifs setting a stage that is theatrically Italian yet weightlessly island-appropriate. Mornings and midday it plays it cool and refined, a shaded escape from the Gustavia heat where luxury shoppers regroup over espresso and light bites. By early evening the golden hour hits the onyx and the room shifts — a bartender revisiting the classics with real craft, Italian wines by the glass, Mediterranean finger foods circulating, and a DJ gently raising the tempo. It's polished but never stuffy; you can slide in from a boat day in linen or dress up like you mean it, and either way you belong.
What to Try
Order a Martini done properly — the bar's namesake and the thing they take most seriously, with a lineup of classics revisited by the bartender (ask what they're twisting that week). Pair with the Mediterranean finger food selection — small, elegant bites built for grazing between rounds — and a glass from the Italian wine list if you want to slow the evening down.
Insider Tip
Don't look for a big signposted entrance — the doorway is deliberately confidential, a slim gap between the D&G and Prada boutiques marked mainly by two large palm trees. Aim for the golden hour before dinner (roughly 6–7pm): the light through the courtyard is unreal, the DJ set is just easing in, and you can actually claim a seat at the pink onyx bar before the post-dinner crowd arrives and it fills up fast.
