The lagoon at Grand Cul de Sac is calm because it's protected by a natural reef — which also makes it the island's kiteboarding hub. Ask the concierge to arrange a lesson with one of the schools working the far end of the beach; you can walk there from your suite in ten minutes and be back for lunch. Also: request a Suite Plage over a garden-facing room if you want to hear the water from bed — the price bump is worth it for the direct-access barefoot walk to the sand.
