Maryvonne, the founder, is often on-site knotting, wiring, and clasping pieces while you browse, so the boutique carries the calm hum of a working atelier rather than the polish of Gustavia's big-name jewelers up the street. Cabinets glow with baroque Tahitian pearls in peacock-green and aubergine, silky white South Sea strands, and delicate silver chains threaded with frosted sea glass in bottle-green and Caribbean-blue. Prices span an unusually wide range for Gustavia — you can pick up a simple pearl-on-cord bracelet as a keepsake or commission a statement necklace that runs into four figures. The vibe is friendly, unhurried, and refreshingly free of the velvet-rope pressure you get at some of the luxury names nearby.

Ask to see the loose Tahitian pearl trays — Maryvonne will lay out a velvet strip and help you match tones and shapes for a bespoke pendant or bracelet made up while you wait (or shipped once finished). The signature knotted-leather chokers with a single baroque pearl are the boutique's calling card, and the sea-glass drop earrings are the most affordable way to walk out with a piece you'll actually wear back home.

This is the original 'Bijoux de la Mer' — look for 'L'Original' on the signage, because a few copycat names have popped up around the island.
