Why Go

This is the sweet-spot address on St Barth — pinned between the family-friendly turquoise curve of St Jean and the wide, wave-washed sand of Flamands, with Gustavia's harbor a four-minute drive downhill. You get beach mornings, boutique afternoons, and sunset cocktails without ever committing to just one side of the island.

The Experience

The villa itself leans into that classic St Barth rhythm: shuttered windows opened onto trade winds, a terrace built for slow breakfasts, and the kind of quiet you only get on a hillside above the Caribbean. St Jean's reef-protected lagoon is a short walk or drive one way — perfect for easy swims, paddleboarding, and lunch at Nikki Beach or La Plage. Flamands, in the other direction, is the island's grandest stretch of sand, framed by latanier palms and the low-slung silhouette of Cheval Blanc. Come evening, you drop into Gustavia for dinner and drift home before the road gets busy.

What to Try

Book a morning at Flamands before the sun climbs — the west-facing beach is calmest early, and the walk over the headland to Anse de Colombier is one of the island's great free experiences. Snorkel the rocks at the east end of St Jean beach where planes skim the runway just above your head. Reserve a table at L'Esprit Saline or Bonito for dinner, and don't skip a sundowner at Shellona on Shell Beach. If you want to move, 4 Sea Zone can set you up with a boat day to Colombier or Île Fourchue.

Insider Tip

Skip the rental-car scramble at the airport and arrange a car to be delivered to the villa — the road between St Jean and Flamands is narrow, steep, and best driven by someone who has done it before. Also: grocery-shop at Maya's To Go or the Marché U in St Jean on your first afternoon. Restaurants book out days ahead in high season, and stocking the villa for one relaxed dinner in is the move locals make.

The Practical Stuff

Address: 97133, Saint-Barthélemy, between Saint-Jean and Anse des Flamands. Roughly 4 minutes by car to Gustavia, 3 minutes to St Jean beach, 5 minutes to Flamands. Nearest airport: Rémy de Haenen (SBH), about 5 minutes away. A car is essentially required — taxis are limited and expensive. High season (mid-December through April) requires booking months ahead; shoulder season (May–June, November) offers the same island at a calmer pace.

Pair It With

  • Nikki Beach St Barth — The definitive long-lunch scene on St Jean beach, a few minutes from the villa.
